IR / HPLC Accessories - NaCl / KBr Cells (Mull, Liquid & Gas) |
| |
| |
Mull Techniques
In this method, the solid sample is ground and mixed with an oil medium in mortar and pestle to an ointment consistency. The mull is then introduced between two windows of Demountable Mull Cell for analysis.
| |
Liquid Sampling
For samples in the liquid form, the cell is constructed usinig a drilled and undrilled window with a spacer of required path length. There are two types of cells avaliable for liquid sampling.
1) Semi permanent cell
2) Fixed pathlength cell |
| |
Each one has its own advantages and disadvantages. Choose the one which will best suit the application. |
| |
The construction of verious cells is demonstrated hear. Most important point to note is that the Nacl/KBR material is lightly hygroscopic. Care must be taken to avoid moisture coming in contact with these materials.
| |
Analysis of Gases.
For study of pure gases of mixtures in which the components are present at concentrations of at least five to ten precent, short pathlength cells (5 & 10 cms.) are used.
* They are of two types.
* Type A and Type B. |
